Geomatics Training
The company can provide geodetic training classes. What follows is a typical example of a training class covering the geodetic basics over a two day period:
Day 1 : Basic Geodesy and Cartography
Session 1: Introduction to Geodesy – basic principles of geodesy and practical applications within the UK and abroad
Session 2: Coordinate reference systems – introduction to how coordinate systems are defined – introduction to WGS84 and other global systems
Lunch
Session 3: Datums and coordinate transformations – introduction to the principles of coordinate transformations with practical based upon UK and overseas systems
Session 4: Introduction to map projections and coordinate conversions
Day 2 : Part 1 – error analysis and quality control
Session 1: Introduction to statistics and error analysis
Session 2: Principals of quality control of navigation and survey data
Lunch
Day 2: Part 2 – Positioning fixing and GPS
Session 1: Introduction to position fixing
Session 2: General GNSS & GPS
The classes can be run on site at your facility or the company can organize facilities at its Newcastle upon Tyne location. These courses are strictly run for companies and are NOT offered to the general public.
