eTOD – NANSC (Cairo, Egypt)
This Annex 15 – electronic Terrain and Obstacle Database (eTOD) project was awarded to the company by Egyptian client – National Aviation Navigation Service Company (NANSC). The objective of the project was to provide technical services to NANSC which would enable their executives to generate the mandatory Terrain and Obstacle Databases covering each of the Areas outlined within the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) Annex 15 document.
In conjunction with the client the project was divided into a series of work packages, namely:
Reconnaissance mission
Survey design
Data acquisition
Data processing
Database population
Each work package was designed such that it would enable NANSC to achieve their objective of creating two databases that would contain the appropriate entries to describe the Digital Terrain Models (DTM) and Obstacles over the areas of interest.
