Geo Suite
Geo Suite comprises eleven interlinked software modules that run on a Microsoft Windows platform and supports Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit). Hardware requirements include: Memory – 512 MB RAM recommended (memory requirements are data dependent), Hard Disk Space: 200 MB (not including data), CD Rom drive, Internet download should also available. A schematic of the full Geo Suite are illustrated below.
The main features of the suite include:
- Series of interlinked modules enabling a variety of mapping and seismic navigation datasets to be analyzed, edited and published to industry standard data exchange requirements.
- Central Geodetic Authority directly linked to the EPSG database through the Geo DB module. User specifications will also enable the database to point to any current, previous or user-customized versions of the EPSG database. E.g. EPSG_GDB(x).mdb versions created within Shell and used by ArcPlus TVT.
- 2D and 3D visualization of terrain (wireframe and draped imagery) and other standard raster and vector mapping formats.
- Survey design capability through Geo Mapper and 3D viewer.
- Fully integrated geodetic calculator (Geo Suite Calc) giving capability to transform between WGS84 and other datum’s; Capability to convert coordinates from virtually any system, datum, or map projection to any other. Direct access of all geodetic parameters via Geo Suite DB.
- Publication of read-only projects via Map Viewer module.
In addition, the following functionality is offered:
- Creation of individual or grouped thematic mapping layers with Geo Suite Mapper module.
- Inventory of all standard vector and raster mapping formats, e.g. .dxf, .shp, .jpg, .bmp, .GeoTIFF, .TIFF, .txt, .csv, .xls, etc.
- Inventory of all main industry standard navigation files, e.g. P1/90, P1/84, P1/78, P7/2000, P6/98, SPS (r and s), SEGP1, SEG-Y etc with both decoding and encoding functionality.
- Import wizards are implemented to guide the user through the input of standard and non-standard navigation data sets.
- Print view and print design of templates.
- Full recognition of EPSG codes and ISO nomenclature.
2D Seis QC Module
- Full QA/QC analysis of the imported seismic navigation files, line by line and shot by shot.
- QC functions includes analysis of duplicate line names, shot point numbers, azimuth changes, missed shots, shot point distances etc.
- All are reported using a set of color coded tables, graphs and text reports. See below for more details.
- The Export wizard enables the user to export navigation data in a range of industry standard exchange formats including UKOOA and SEG publications.
3D Seis QC Module
- Capability of defining 3D seismic Bin Grids by :
- UKOOA P6/98,
- 4 points (inline, xline, x, y, CRS), 3 points (inline, xline, x, y, CRS),
- 2 points (inline, xline, x, y, CRS) where the two points are not on the same inline or xline and
- 1 point (inline, xline, x, y, CRS) + survey azimuth, inline/xline spacing, survey orientation (left or right handed)
- Bin Grid QA/QC
- Determine rectilinear nature of grids. If not, indicate the magnitude of resulting uncertainty
- Compute bin grid attributes: inline/xline spacing, survey azimuth, L/R handedness
- Determination of error in redundant information and computation of best-fit grids
- Reprojection of corner points to a new CRS.
- Readjustment of corner points to rectilinear grid (what-if scenario testing)
- Display bin grid corners against a backdrop of cultural info
- Derive Bin Grid from Navigation File
- Import a navigation file which could be all bin center locations, line end points, or a collection of points across the survey
- Compute a bin grid which best fits the data (least squares)
- Display error plot showing amount of difference between bin grid results and input data locations
- Visualize Bin Grid and 3d Survey Subsets
- Plot bin grid based on 3/4 points that are entered, or based on a user defined polygon, or based on navigation file extents
- Allow user control of display parameters (decimation, labeling, etc).
- Plot over a backdrop of cultural data (including ability to use live web service base maps.
- Compare 2 Bin Grids
- Compare / Display differences between two bin grids entered by the user
- Export Bin Grid / Nav File
- Write fully populated P6/98 files
- Write fully attributed Load Sheets
- Export Grid as Key files
- Export Grid as SQBINR parameter file
- Export a P1 navigation file with full headers allowing user control over decimation and clipping to a polygon
